Pinwheel Galaxy — M101 — M101 (NGC 5457)
The Pinwheel Galaxy, or M101, is a face-on spiral galaxy in Ursa Major, approximately 21 million light-years away. Its broad spiral structure contains numerous bright, active star-forming regions. This Garden to Galaxy image combines 791 thirty-second frames captured with a Seestar S30 Pro, producing almost 6.6 hours of total integration.
Processing notes
Stacked in Siril and finished with AstroWizard by Lukomatico, followed by careful noise reduction, sharpening, colour balancing and stretching to reveal faint detail while protecting the brighter regions.
