Space has fascinated me for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I spent countless hours watching documentaries with my dad and listening to anything I could find about planets, stars and the wider universe. The sheer scale of it all still blows my mind. That fascination grew even stronger when Professor Brian Cox brought astronomy to a wider audience; seeing his live shows made me love it even more.
For years, I assumed astronomy and astrophotography meant spending tens of thousands of pounds on enormous telescopes and specialist equipment. Then smart telescopes such as the Seestar made it genuinely accessible. In March 2026, I finally began capturing my own images from my garden in West Yorkshire. Garden to Galaxy is the record of that journey—from a lifelong fascination with space to seeing distant galaxies and nebulae appear in photographs I have taken myself.
I share the successful nights, the processing choices and the imperfect learning along the way. Every published image includes its real capture information wherever it is known.
